Differences between smallblock v8 & 90 degree V6? besides 2 pistons

I am looking at different parts ect for a future buildup of my 3800 block for a turbo system and was wondering what pistons / rings / valves / lifters / rods that are compatible with my 6? Simple math 5.7 * 2/3 = 3.8 is making me wonder if the 3800 is simply a lopped off smallblock. I like the selection of aftermarket smallblock partsI don't mind having to buy the extra two if its the only way i can get parts with certain specs.

The V8 minus 2 cylinders is the 4.3L. The 4.3 takes 350 pistons, rings, bearings (cam crank rods), valves, connecting rods, same stroke as 350, lifters, push rods and other stuff ( you can use a lot of 350 parts in a 4.3).
The 3.8 is its own thing it has 3.8'' pistons and 3.4'' stroke, 1.8'' and 1.52'' valves .

Yeah, i realized this morning its 3/4 not 2/3. Anyway, does anyone know where to get internals for the 3800? I know of 3800 performance, just wondering if anyone else knew of any others.

www.zzperformance.com has a lot of parts available. they specifically cater to the FWD 3800, but bottom end is identical.

what about ported heads and upgraded valvetrains?

also, i can't remember where but i saw this site where a guy had a list of different upgrades classified into 3 stages. He also had a great collection of technical documents, although i think he had a firebird.

Anyone know what i'm talking about
