Converting to a 7mgte

I own a 1995 base model Camaro that I will be swapping a mildly built Toyota 7mgte supra engine into. I am completely rebuilding and painting the entire car. You're probably gonna tell me I'm wasting my time and it would be cheaper to just buy a V8 car, but that's not gonna happen. The car has deep sentimental value I just want more out of it. The tired 3.4 took a dump some time ago and is out of the car. Originally I was going to rebuild it and possibly add forced induction, but after lots of research I've decided that's a poor plan. Now, the reason for the Supra engine is simple... I already have it ready to go, It will make roughly 350hp, and it's a proven powerplant. What do you all think? I am still debating transmission options. the car is an auto but I have a 5 speed as well and also an a340e auto from the supra.

Re: Converting to a 7mgte

I've worked on several 7M's, they are a complete PITA. That said, when well built with decent parts and wiring that is in good condition they can be powerful and decently reliable. I would maybe be worried about the height of the straight six with the low hood of the Camaro.
