Is a computer necessary to change spark plugs?

I just changed the plugs and wires on my girlfriend's 96 3.8. Before I did that, I changed the o2 sensor on the #1 bank. (Afterwards, the SES stopped coming on) But now, the scanner says my coil is bad and the SES is coming on. Keep in mind, the scanner did not give a code for the coil until after I changed the plugs and wires.

My girl told me that some mechanic told her that you have to reset something with a computer after you change the plugs and wires. I don't believe this.

just unplug your battery for about 15 minutes or so and see if that helps it. i havent heard of ever having to reset your pcm after changing plugs but hey, give it a shot and see what happens.

there is nothing that needs to be reset after a plug change.

find out witch cyl or cyls is missing and see if they are on the same coil or not. I would be checking for proper gap on those 1 or 2 plugs as well as making sure that the wires are on the right plugs
