Swapping the cam is definately not a job for everyone. Took us 2 days just because of random stupid problems. You need to basically take the top end of the motor apart, replace everything and put it back together. If you get just a mild cam you may be able to get away with only replacing the valvesprings but I did the springs, rods, retainers, lifters and all. Not to mention all the gaskets that you need and make sure nothing leaks in the end.
Timing cover and chain need to come off, both intakes and the valvecovers also need to come off. In the end, even with a few discounts it totalled out to about a grand. Getting it tuned soon

You have slp exaust which is way better than flowmaster. And plus you have cams. Thats why yours sounds better than jon's.
I have a 1997 v6 with flowmaster exaust and a slp cold air intake. I will post a video of it on here when i get the sound working.

That said, it came used with an SLP CAI already installed. The car is an A4 with 102k miles, and it puts out an honest 30 mpg with mostly highway driving. That's essentially stock mpg in a 10 year old car that hasn't been tuned up in a while. The CAI may have something to do with it... but I don't know how it would perform without one.
