code reader problems

I bought just a cheap one about two years ago that never would flash the codes. So today I bought a $214.00 autoxray 2500 and it says : unable to read from the vehicle Please verify the key is on.(1993 camaro 3.4 v6)
So I Plug the code reader into 2 other cars and it works. So whats up with mine? Is the plug in my camaro bad or what? Really need to get this thing to read. Please help.
Thanks

Wink

I have a 1995 3.4 camaro and I had the same problem. My issue is i need an obd1 scanner with an obd2 adapter. If that makes any sense. Have yet to do so but im pretty sure thats your problem.

I believe you have to by an adapter wire that fits on your obd 1 wire and the other end has an obd 2 plug. Im guessing but im pretty sure thats what you need.
