catylatic converter

i have a 97 v6 3.8 camaro standard and i notice when i raced it earlier today that my cat turned cherry red i was thinkin it was clogged and i thought mabye i should gut it out for now till i get the new system for it will that affect anything on the car.

It might also be that your car is running rich.

Have a diagnostic computer check done.
Knocking all the junk out of the cat still is not a bad idea.

You would have to take it to the dealer or mechanic to have them hook up a scanner and see what is going on while the engine is running.
