it sounds good and you will probably not get pulled over, but gm put a cat on the car for a reason.if i were you i would hollow it just to see how a high flow cat would sound. i had an slp tol exhaust and it sounded nasty as hell.also, dont try to slip the old cat off the y-pipe!!!! i had to use an air hammer to get the damn this off. all that i did was stuff a crowbar through the rocks in there a couple of times, then started the car to blow the crap out. you will have to do this about 10 times until everything is out. good luck and breath deep

i personally dont think you'll get pulled over with it, esp since its a gutted cat and its not like your using an ORP...I've never been pulled over for that and i have headers, ORP, Cut-out, straight pipes with no muffler and its a v8 and im a college kid, so im targeted pretty easily...however i do tend to not step on the gas when a cop is near...

however u will be able to tell a notcibly louder rumble and gains will be minimal in your v6 IMO

good luck

gains will be nothing with your gutted cat. it will sound different (but not even that much) but it wont make you any faster.

the sound of your exhaust will change a little. you wont see any gains worth mentioning. i know, your car breathes easier withthe cat gone, blah blah blah. you wont go any faster!
the change in exhaust wont be near as loud as you think. only you will be able to tell. nobody else will. i have done it all straight pipe- gutted cat, whatever- i have done it. and every time i changed it i would take it to the track to see what it did for me. absolutely nothing.

well if i were in your shoes this is what i would do.
i would get a highflow cat and a stock Z28 "i" pipe. that is one nice combo. and i got my i pipe from a salvage yard for 16 bucks. if you dont already have an after market exhaust you can get one from a salvage yard with the i pipe included for $60. thats just like getting a catback for your car.
