Friend is having problems with his Jeep. He says it takes off slowly tell about 15 mph is when it starts driving normal.

Its an Auto.
When he puts it in 1st it takes off normal and only does this when it is in drive. He's checked the tranny fluid and theres plenty.

He said the RPM's go up normal but it doesnt start to drive normal tell about 15 mph.

Hes had problems with the motor mounts because they have broken 2 or 3 times.(dont know if that makes any difference) and changed the fuel pump about a month ago.

car is a auto 96 Jeep around 160k miles.

Is his SES light on? It might be in limp mode. My blazer would do the same thing run like crap when you first take off then once you get going runs good. No power in first gear at all reset my computer at autozone and ran great.
