car problems

A friend of mine took his car to be checked out because it was not running right and they came up with the following problems after hooking it up to a diagnostic machine:

EVAP emission
control system
Purge flow fault

Anyone know what this means?

There are only a few components that make up your evaporative emissions control system, and the only thing you can do is start testing them. Start with your EECS Control valve and work from there. If you get ahold of a haynes manual or something like that, they'll tell you how to test it, and what you should be looking for in the other components in the system.
