Talking car is fixed....(long)

Well, I got my car back today. After an hour long phone call yesterday from the service rep explaining to me that my problem is my coil packs, he proceeded to tell me that I need to have my fuel filter, battery, plugs, and wires changed due to the age of my car and routine maintenance. First of all I explained to him that my plugs and wires have been changed 4 times already for the same problem and it should be covered under warranty. He's telling me that it's not because it's a routine maintenance procedure. Then he tells me that my battery is weak and that could be causing the problem in the first place...BS!!! I told him that the battery has nothing to do with the "fuel ignition" system when the car is running. I can't figure out how he seems to think so...It seemed to me that he was trying to seriously "up-sale" me into paying for parts I don't need. My fuel filter was changed just 4,000 miles ago, so that's BS too!! After all was said and done, he told me with the plugs, wires, battery, and fuel filter it would be close to $500. HECK NO!!!!! I had them do the warranty work only. Well, I go to pick up the car today and they replaced the coil packs and my wires. Apparently when reassembling the coils they discovered the wires not reusable due to dirt and evidence of burning. I'm like "riddle me this batman"...could this have been the problem all 5 times? Since my car doesn't throw a code or an SES light...how would you know that the coils were bad? Obviously, it wasn't checked in the first place. I ended up not paying a single dime for all the work, but if I hadn't done my homework I could have forked out $500 for NOTHING!!!

Recommend it be changed..........my ***!!

My car now runs like a raped ape. Sorry if I've been rambling on, but I just wanted to give you guys and gals insight to question everything the dealer service department says and find out the facts before handing over all that hard earned money. Not that everyone doesn't already know this, I just thought I'd share my situation with everyone. At least I got my car fixed!!! Totally made my day...

One thing I forgot to mention...on my service receipt it says that it's proven that aftermarket exhaust causes misfiring problems....how much crap is that???!!!!

Now that I've passed smog and got the car fixed, I can put my MSD back on along with all the rest of the crap I took off...just for a stupid smog test. I hate California emissions laws!!
