Calipers Paintn'

I was wondering what the best color would be to paint the calipers on my red car? Silver or red?? Black Maybe. If i go black ill do black with the red CAMARO lettering, or black, or white lettering with the red. Im leaning toward the red but just thought id get a dif opinion.

a little trick my friend taught me.....

pull the wheel off and just spray the entire brake assembly down with hi temp spray paint. then put the wheel back on and drive down the street and stop a couple times.(makes a funny noise the first 1 or 2 stops.)

the pads will scrape the paint off the rotor and leave you with a perfectly painted caliper, rotor edge and rotor hat. i tried this with silver paint on my car and it came out pretty cool. looks a lot better than the rusted up rotor hats.

spray the rotor and all?? Dont detach the caliper? Also what are some brands of brakes that do not leave dust everywhere?

yea spray the whole assempbly down while its still on the car (obviously be careful to keep the paint IN the wheelwell. )

it sounds like a bad idea but it actually works really well.....it sounds weird for the first stop or two but then the pad rubs the paint right off the contact portion of the rotor. a bunch of my friends have done it on their cars too.

as for brakes...hawk pads are excellent and dont dust much from what i've heard.

the easiest way IMO is to hang the caliper with a coat hanger. and spray it from all sides. use several coats and clear coat them to get that nice high gloss look.. as for painting the rotor hat and edges.. just spray the entire rotor and then take them and have them turned. the machine will clean away all paint as it turns the rotors.
