Borla cat-back exhaust system
I recently bought a Borla cat-back 3 inch adjustable system for my 2001 Pontiac v6 Firebird. I thought that it connected right after the catalytic converter, but it connected after te cat after a bedn in the pipe. the Borla cat-back started with an intermediate pipe then went all the way back to the tips. I 'm wanting to know if this is how it was supposed to be installed so i knwo if it was done correctly. Also my passenget tip has more sound coming out of it andmy drivers side tip has more air coming out of it. I'm wondering if this is the way it is supposed to be. Pleas, somone out there let me know about these things. Anyone can e-mail me with answers at FiReHaWkNWv@aol.com. My name is Chris. Thanx

on the V6 models the Borla kit does not Bold direct to the cat and if my memory serves me correctly it is 2.5" pipe on the v6 & 3" on the V8 models..The variations is sound you are noticing on each side of the tips will depend on what adjustable Plate was inserted at time of install!..I would suggest taking it out and trying some of the other plates and see what works best?..Usually,the plate that has about a 1.5" opening works best for both power and torque!...Hope that helps
