with the best of everything the sky is the limit. a boost friendly cam, a good intercooler, and/or water/alky kit, good head studs, possibly o ringing the heads/block/manifolds, a good aftermarket computer. i dont see why 30# of boost would be out of the question

cost effictive... most likely not

It is iron. It'll handle a lot Way more than that bowtie aluminum race block they have out. I'd say 500 horsepower is not out of the question with stock block/crank.

i wouldnt be suprised to see the stock block take 500 either, however im not so sure about the crank... but it hasnt been dont to my knowledge yet, go find out for us (or just wait till one of us finally gets our ducks in a row) (i have a semester and a half till i graduate....... then its on )

nope , not that i know of anyway, however you could get it cryotreated.. that'd give it a little more strength

Crank will handle it. Crank is made out of same components as the LT4 crank

The 3.4 has a cast nodular iron crank with 3 common rod jornals and are evenly spaced 120* apart w/ 2 bolt mains. It is simple and strong. I'd be more worried about the block cracking before that crank goes out.
