beating a dead horse

My buddy just bought his wife a new jeep grand cherokee for her almost-2-hour commute to work everyday and told me i could have her camaro for $1000.. its a '94 with 180k on the motor and tranny..i was thinking of gettin it and doing a motor swap (v6 to v8) but I can;'t find any writeups on it anywhere and don't really know what the cost would be.. if its gonna cost like $5k to do it, i wont get the car, but if its a simple swap out/swap in deal then I will..

any ideas?

Not simple, better to buy F-body with V8 already in. Who buys a car with 180k miles on it You should find a Z28 if you want a V8 less hassle and cheaper because you don't have to pay for labor.

I was looking into this for my 99' and it turned out to be quite an expensive project. Not only do you have to swap the engine, but you have to swap out the cross member, fuel tank, fuel lines, radiator, motor mounts, ECU, wiring harness, dash cluster and harness, tranny, suspension, and some other things I know I'm forgetting. All in all, the grand total of parts and labor for my car ended up being over $10K. I've got some of the parts for the swap sitting in my garage in the boxes, so if you decide to go ahead and do it...you're welcome to buy them. I've got an LS1 radiator, suspension, and dash cluster with harness. All are brand new parts, so if you're interested they're yours. Otherwise, someday I'm going to put them on Ebay. Good luck to ya.

why dont you just build the 3.4L? you can make damn respectable power with these motors.
