ASAP: fuel pressure regulator install help!

ASAP: fuel pressure regulator install help!

my buddy and I are trying to swap out his fuel pressure regulator but cant get the stock one off. How do we do it, we are definately confused. HELP!

V6? 3.8? It's held into the housing by an internal snap ring. It will be very difficult to remove with the fuel rail on the engine. If you take the rail off, you can take out the snap ring easily. The fpr should pull out of the housing but it might be a little stuck, because of the rubber o-ring in the center. Rotating it a bit should break it loose and make it a little easier to pull out.

could the fuel pressure regulator cause my camaro to studder when accelerating or idle rough?

Yep, his car is sputtering a ton, sounds and feels horrible. Thank god for chiltons we got it off. Got a nice amount of fuel everywhere tho after taking off the rails. It was a fun project but I realize how much easier my car is to work on than a 3.8L!
