Alternator swap difficulty?

Hey-

I've got a friend with a defective alternator in his 93 - 97 Camaro V6. Not sure what year.

Isn't the alternator accessed from underneath?

Before I offer to swap it for him, I want to make sure I'm not in for some bizarre chore like changing plugs on an LT1

on my old 97 3.8 it's up top and real easy to get to.... something like 2 or 3 bolts that are easily accessible from the front of the car and then the wire plug + the hot wire bolt on the back of the alternator which are easy once you have the alternator off...
don't know where it is on the 3.4's

The alternator is still on top on the 3.4L It will probably be one of the easier repairs you do on the car.
