air intake
air intake
i have a stock 1995 V6 3.8L camaro. i want to put a better air intake on it. i had a friend tell me that all i have to do is buy the cone filter and stick on where the stock box where the enclosed filter was. is this true? if not, what would i need and how much would this cost me? (tight budget)
Re: air intake
as was said before...
+ its not just the stock filter thats the problem, its the size of the tubing, if u look, the stock tubing has a really small area by the radiator, this causes a bottle neck...
not just that, but ur still getting hot air where the stock filter is...
for the 3.8L, the only thing to do is buy one, i'd say the SLP kit is preferable, i prefer the metal.. i just think its better built, but thats me

Re: air intake
I noticed an instant difference in throttle response and a few HP with this mod...

coupled with a K&N filter and a new baffle should offer better than any bolt on!
