After Market Shifter
After Market Shifter
I have a 97 Camaro w/ the 3.8, SLP Cold Air Intake and Magnaflow Cat-back Exhaust with the 5 speed. I'm now looking to get a new shifter and have been looking between two, the B&M Ripper and the Hurst Billet Plus. I was just wondering what the difference between the two are and if anyone has put either one of these in on their cars and how it turned out. I'm also open to any other products that I haven't mentioned. Thanks.
Re: After Market Shifter
well, i'd have the choice between the B&M and the pro5.0
i have the B&M, and love it, such tight gear changes... but its stock length, the pro5.0 can use a much shorter stick - better? i dont know, i've had 2 b&m's on 2 cars, LOVE them...
hurst, supposedly isnt quite as good as the two i mentioned
u should search, there's much debate, what you'll find is 50% prefer b&m, hte other 50% pro 5.0.
try both out, if u can, on other cars... but thats not easy to do

Re: After Market Shifter
I have a hurst billet plus and it's sweet. The throws are adjustible so you can make em as long or short as you want but don't make them too short because it'll pop out of gear on its own. The stick is stock length but you can use the WS6 store short stick and lou's short stick with it.
