ABS and low traction light

Hey, I've got a 96 V6 camaro and just recently the ABS light and the Low Traction light keep coming on while i'm driving. It only happens when i'm driving and it comes on when i'm turning or even just driving normally. I haven't really noticed anything wrong with the car besides the lights. Could it just be a sensor or somthing wrong with the brakes?? If you have an idea what could be wrong please let me know asap!! Thanx alot!

Hmm,a couple of things to check:
-3rd brake light. (I think on '96 and later you'll get the ABS light when the 3rd bulb is blown)
-Altenator (when my alt went in my '95 I had those lights)
-ABS sensor
Good luck man.

Yeah in my '95 Camaro when my Alternator went the ABS light came on..... but every once in awhile it will come on... does kinda get annoying so I just end up pulling over and restarting my car and it does that trick. But isnt a frequent problem. As for the traction light... never encountered anything like that.

3rd brake light?

what is the 3rd brake light and where is it? My alternator went about 8-10mos ago and i replaced it, so i don't think its the alternator, plus my bat seems to be holding a good charge. Thelights do go off when i restart my car and it comes on randomly when i'm driving. The other nigth when i was driving i tapped the brakes when driving at about 60k and they sorta locked up or something as if i had pushed the brake furhter down. They worked fine after that. Could it have anything to do with the actual brakes or the disks? I changed the pads not too long ago but not the disks. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong would be very much appreciated!

Thanx alot!

changed brake light

Well, it turns out that the 3rd brake light was burnt out, actually they were both melted and black. So i changed those and now I have now problems with the ABS INOP light.

Now its just the LOW TRACTION light. Ever so often, after starting my car and driving, when I push down the brake pedal the light comes on and my pedal doesn't go down all the way. I have to release the pedal and push it down again in order for it the brakes to work at full capacity. This has only happened in the first minute of driving when the car is still cold. If you guys have any ideas let me know, thanx alot!!

I had this problem. Try this: Roll down your windows and drive somewhere quite. SLOWELY come to a stop. Does the low trac light come on? Do the brakes feel strange at the same time? Now here's what you do.... listen. Listen for any noises. Do you here anything? hehehehe Specfically, an ABS motor? It's not real loud, but you can hear it easily. This tells us that infact the ABS is indeed kicking in. I advise you to check your wheel speed sensors. That's what was bad in my case. Help this helps!
