Hi guys, for some reason My ABS INOP light stays on when i start my car, it really annoyes me, my guess is something wrong with a sensor. Also for some reason the car has been idling at 1500 rpms instead of 1000. Could these two problems be related?

 

my abs light came on awhile back with i first bought my camaro but now i think it tells you the brakes are going out cause mine are now but before when the light came on they was fine.

 

Mine was doing something like that-check your battery terminals and cables for corrosion. Sometimes all of my lights came on and sometimes just one or two (I remember the ABS light being on). My car also idled funny. May not be this, but something to check.

i think that light is an early sign of a bad battery or altenator......I'd say get autozone to check both

Could be early sign of bad alternator as mine went bad shortly after I got my ABS light to go off. Also you could have a blown tail light fuse (which is why my ABS light came on).

Yep somehting wrong with the charging systems, check all wire connections even the one to the alternator.

I have had various stuff on the charging sstem go out and set off the abs light.

I think if hte car charges low the PCM stops powering the ABS since its and "option" and allow more power for the rest of the car.

the light and 1500 rpm idle could be related if its in the charging system the car is revving slightly to help charge
