Wink ? about times

I guess the best way to figure this out would be to go to the track but I don't have the time, and I'm curious.

Brand new stock Srt-4 (manual) Car and driver says it runs 14.5 and puts out 230 bhp
I have a 97 rs w/ cai and ss takeoff muffler (new plugs, wires, tranny service, etc) and I pulled this car from a 40 roll by a 1/4 of a car and 1/2 a car from a dig...so w/ cai and muffler we're talking 210-220 bhp up from the rated 200bhp.

my question is if I'm doing that then why don't I feel like my car should be running that quick w/ the minimal modifacations? Or maybe that cai is a giving me a lot more bang to that 3800sII...?

just some thoughts.

If you were able to pull on an SRT-4 from a 40 roll with your 3.8 car, then chances are you were racing against someone who can't drive for crap. SRT-4s stock are capable of 13's with a sticky tire. They make more power, and weigh a lot less than a 3.8 F-body.

Where in NJ do you live? You shouldn't have too much trouble getting to a track, considering that there are 3 in the state.

Car & Driver had tested the srt4 @ 14.5 so idk, lol nor do I care all I know is I pulled him when he shifted into third both races...so I know the turbo lag is very very little in that car so he could have just shifted early idk...I don't know what an srt-4's top end is like but we only went up to about 80 so we didn't pull a whole 1/4 from the dig, the 40 roll we got up to around 95-100 and he was sarting to slip back when i hit the brakes...

I live by McGuire AFB and I'm in Ewing a lot, I usually go to Atco w/ the Controlled Insanity guys from a lil farther south of mount holly, I haven't had a chance to run mine yet. I just had a minor acident and blew out 2 tires...so I happend to spend $1g on Eagle F1s, which should help w/ traction. I'm pretty sure I can get into the mid 14s, if I hit the tree well and it's a good dry night. it's a very very well kept car drivetrain wise, so we'll see when we get there, I'll let everyone know.

Stock SRT-4s can run 13s... for comparison a stock SRT-4 can beat a stock LT1. Car and driver must of had a bad run and your friend did even worse.

You still beat him though and are entitled to giving him a hard time.

That's cool, I'm friends with several of the CI guys too. Feel free to check out my board (link in sig) for other gatherings in NJ too.

What brings you to Ewing on a regular basis?
