99 camaro 3800 issues
I say issues, as it is odd. A buddy of mine owns this car and from what he tells me this is what it is doing.
Car will run fine, and then all of a sudden, it starts to loose power, run real rough, and the engine light comes on. He shuts the car off when this happens, and then, after a brief period of time, he turns the car back on and it seems to run fine again until it decides to do it again. I dont think it has anything to do with temperature, or speed, or anything, it seems to be totally randomed. Any thoughts would be of great help, as I am at a loss on this issue.

Re: 99 camaro 3800 issues
Hmm... I would say to start with checking your plugs & wires, it could be a number of things. Also if the "SES" light comes on, have it scanned & that should point you in the right direction, then you can go from there.
Re: 99 camaro 3800 issues
Redglare,
well the plugs wires, pcv, all have been replaced. As has the ECM. Its not the SES that comes on its the Reduced engine power light. Thanks for the thoughts though.
We have been able to duplicate the problem though. The trottle body, is one massive piece, which the mass air slides down into. When we unplug the 6 or eight wire plug on the passenger side of the throttle body, it duplicates the problem. The problem only happens when the AC is on in the car too. Not to mention, all the codes throw are 1205,1105, something to do with Manifold pressure. We thought it was the Idle air control vavle, but i cannot locate it. Every dealer tells me its right behind the throttle body on the intake manifold on the passneger side. Thats impossible, because it has an alternator mounted almost flush with themotor there.
any further ideas? all help is appreciated.
