Question 98 v6 z28??

my uncle owns a few caddilac dealerships and i told him to keep an eye out for a trans am or a z28. he calls me up and says he found a 98 v6 camaro with the full z28 package. just no ls1. he says it has 40k miles and is an automatic. he will give it to me for 8000. do yall think this is a good deal? i personally dont see how this car could have a z28 package but i havent seen it yet. i really want a v8 car but this price is good and the savings on insurance would be great. any advice or comments?

There is no 'Z28' package V6. The Z28 is V8 only.

your uncle probably means it has the y87 package which inludes dual exhaust or possibly somebody put z-28 badges on their v6. but a '98 loaded with only 40k, your luckly because that is really a good price, retail is like $12k on that car. i think you should consider your uncles feelings and take it. truthfully, he's pratically giving it to you.

275 tires may make it "look" faster but in reality it will make it slower, thats a huge tire

i dont really care if its fast or not. if i wanted a fast car i would buy a real z28. v6's are slow but that doesnt mean they cant look good.

I disagree I think V6s are pretty quick, have you driven it yet? My brother got my old Camaro (the 98 V6) and he thinks its great being able to pass people, his old car was a P.O.S.

I agree,V6's are very fun cars.Especially if you just cruise around town a lot. Those things will get up and move on the street.I mean I never use the extra power I have on the street. Most of the time I only hit full throttle at the strip.Too many cops around here to play around with

That is a good deal on the car, and yes they did make some with the Z28 handling package. I almost bought my son one. Notice how tight the car steers and handles. Sorry, the car doesn't have a V-8 nor any badging, but it is a very nice ride. Jump on it, you will be happy.
