96 rs vs 07 mustang v6
umm the best bet is go to a loca track and get some time so we know where your car is at..... some 3.8 v6 cars run hi 15's and even 16's and some run low 15 and even a high high 14.
i have seen the 05+ run stock they usally run about 15.3 on avg. again some are faster some are slower.
my point is we need base line of your car to better help point you in the right direction plus if you have a base line you can see how much other mode are helping
i never had baseline from my car. my first run down the 1/4 mile was a 12.0360@112mph lol i have no idea what my car ran stock

is your car a 5 speed or an automatic?
I think you should be able to take him. My buddies 2000 firebird a4 has taken a lot of v8 mustangs in the 1/8.
You might want to make a "signature" which is a brief description of your car, what mods you already have, etc.
going blindly into this, I would say exhaust, possibly headers (I know pacesetter makes headers for the 3800), a shift kit or shifter (depending on what kind of tranny you have), and a good routine tune up.

A shift kit or shift controller is definitely a plus, quicker, harder shifts will always drop time off the quarter and since the clutches aren't slipping the transmission will last longer under abuse. Try a cold air kit, or K&N filter, something along those lines.
