I highly suggust just buying a Z28. I've been down that road too.

Your going to want:
LT1
Posi Rear End
Tranny (460 LE, T56, 700R4(?), TH400, etc)
K Member
Speedometer
etc.

Estimated Cost? 3-4k?
There are pleanty of half decent LT1 fbodys going for 3,500-4,500.

You CAN put a Gen I SBC in a a 4th gen F-body, but you're going to run into a few problems, the number one issue being where will that distributor go? I believe you would have to cut and modify the firewall.

Unless you are a hardcore racer, I'd say stick with an LT1 or LS1 for a V8 in an F-body

Re: 95 3.4l to 350

i know a few people that have done the 3.4 - LT1 and the 3.8 - LS1..it ended up cost'n them a touch more than they thought but love the results. BUT, it took them a while to find all the stuff they needed at a good price. Unless the car is super nice and super clean, the car is still an older car. Might be better off getting something a little newer.. just my 2 cents.

I had about the same situation as you...95 3.4l/at w/180,000 on it. The car is in great shape, about like it was when I bought it with 11,000 miles. So I didn't want to part with it. Bought a 94Z/6spd car, hit hard in the rear, used everything off the frontend for the swap... traded the t56 for an 4l60e + cash, and pretty much did the swap for a couple hundred bucks, other than the labor ofcourse. But that was the best part for me... I just wanted to do it! It's totally stock other than a Hooker cat-back and my daughters' been driving it daily ever since. The boys in school just can't figure out how she has that v6 sounding so good!!!
