My camaro has dual 3 1/2" tips but i took off the muffler and replaced it with a straight pipe I think it sounds good but will it sound better if I take off the cat and replace it with a straight pipe? what other mods are available to make it sound better other than replacing my intake?

A intake won't improve sound. A better intake would increase air flow. No cat will make it louder, I don't know if it will sound much different.

 

putting on a CAI will change the sound of the exhaust

if you think that the car sounds good with the muffler off im betting that you will like it even more with no cat, however i think it sounds like *** without a muffler

 

i know this is going to sound like im stupid and whatever but......

you like the way it sounds with no muffler?? if you arent going to run a muffler, dont loose the power of going through the pipes and just dump it.

 

if you remove the cat you will lose some.....er....a lot of low end power

 

Also, removing the cat will most likely add some raspiness, the exhaust will have a pecuilar odor to it, and if you live in a emissions regulated state, then you are making problems for yourself.
