Hi. My friend has a 98 Firebird and it has been acting up in the last few weeks. We put a scan tool on it and some of the cylinders had a few misfires but when we looked at number 5, it had over a 1000. At an idle it misses and under load it misses. If you rev it up and keep it steady, it runs pretty good.

I bought brand new wires from Napa and it helped a little. I pulled a couple of plugs, including number 5, and they all looked good with no erosion.

I am left thinking it is the coil pack. I will put a new plug in there first though just in case. I was just wondering if any of you have had this problem.
