3.8L Exhaust setup

The stock system is 2 1/4 right? To upgrade I will prolly get the 2 1/2in. pipes because its cheaper than 3in. and that I drive it everyday. I want to get Pacesetter headers, a high flow cat. converter, and Borla cat-back. My only problem about this is that I need a bigger y-pipe and the pipe from the cat. converter to the cat-back which I think is called the "I" pipe all in which I don't know where to get it. Basically i'm asking where can I get bigger piping.

Ok thats easy except that can they make it be manderal bent?

Since I want to get headers and the ends that connect are 2 1/2in. I heard that it's pointless to get bigger piping than your headers or y-pipe(I don't remember), Is that some what true?
Isn't the stock y-pipe 2 1/4in.? If so, maybe the shop can flange it at the ends to 2 1/2 right? Would I lose much flow cuz of that not being 2 1/2in. all the way? Or would it be easier and a better idea just to buy a bigger one, but where? (website/part #)

if you say you are getting a "catback" thats what that means- you are covered all the way up to the cat. so your "I" pipe will be included. i have the cia headers going into a Y and that into a 3" high flow cat into a stock Z "I" pipe which is 2 3/4" and that into my muffler which was originally for a 2 1/4". all got all sizes under there.

Yea I understand that that's what a cat back is. I want the borla cat back system but in the pictures and things I've read it doesn't come with the I pipe so I think. I can see where you were telling me this. Its confusing me because I don't know if it does. Could someone with the borla system tell me?
It better for the price

I have the borla cat-back but I had it installed at a shop. Everything they needed was included in the package.

Find out what a cat-back means...that will answer your question.

Do a search...you'll actually learn something in the process.

BTW, love the SN...matches the car.

I'll do a search but a cat back is everything from the cat converter to exhaust tips as far as I know.
Hehehe.....yea my sn.....Since i'm young and everybody at my school is either poor or has a civic, so I got one of the nicer(and faster)cars there. Although it's a V6, I whip up on them

Eh, as long as those aren't heavy-mod civics, you should be able to pull on them. Get an intake and a cat-back...you'll be kicking their ***** even harder.

No there not, all they do is add a body kit, big rims, and exhaust and think they can kill me. I am saving up for a 98-02 Camaro with LS1. Then get the LS6 conversion.....If I can find it again
