Cool 231ci. V6

Alright
one of my boys has a 83 monte carlo with a 231ci V6 in it, he has put on 500cfm Carb, intake manifold, Edelbrock Cam/lifter "power combo", Mallory Distributor, 700R4 tranny. He has the stock rear end in it, but was curious on what the advantages would be IF he were to throw in a 3.42 or 3.73 rear end in there. OR what might be the best possible ratio for the rear end??

yeah...fire away

well, it's hard to say what he would stand to gain/lose with 3.42s or 3.73s when we don't know what his stock gears are.

G-bodies came with everything from 2.41s to 3.73s from GM.
