2001 V6 Transmission Question

It turns out I havent changed my transmission fluid in around 30,000 miles. thats two missed changes. Its not black but its not red either. I was about to get it changed when the techs mentioned that since its been awhile that if they change it and something happens to my tranny it isnt covered. That the tranny is used to it and it shouldnt be changed until its tested. Is this true? Is this a common occurrence?

The miles were all pretty much highway from back when I lived in Illinois and drove an hour to work. Now i barely put any miles at all on it just driving to and from work.

I have heard of that, but I thought it was more for cars who have gone alot longer w/o a change. Something like 100K miles.

Thats the recommended service point, you can go 60-70,000 easy without hurting it unless your towing.

I usually do it at 100,000km- 62,500miles.
