the car first started by feeling like it was bogging down from 2000-2500rpm when slowly accelerating. then it started doing it on the highway when accelerating slowly but when you hammer on it it goes like normal. then it started getting worse and was accelerating more slowly then today it started acting really weird bogging down and sounded horible almost shut off then the check engine light came on flashed a bunch of times and then shut off and the car then changed totaly and seemed to stop misfiring completely for a few minutes then went back to only doing it when accelerating slowly

Are you still on the stock plug wires? If so, change them. They were prone to fail early and GM even extended the warranty on them to 7/70K miles. You're out of that warranty period of course, but the plug wires would be the first place I'd start on the 3.8 V6 with a misfire problem...

i have the SAME exact problem. I changed my wires and plugs. nothing happened.... i took it to aamco and they said it could be anything from the catalyc converter to the ignition coil packs. ALTHOUGH my car only does it when she gets wet.

i would definitely start with plugs and wires. if the camaro is the same as a grand prix, flashing SES light means "random multi cylinder misfire" but i'm not positive on that. my GP had alot of misfire/stumble issues when i got it, had taylor spiroPro wires on it...they were a year old. i put some crappy autozone wires on just to see what would happen, and they are still on there LOL

flashing SES light is random multi cylinder misfire in most cases period. It's not a thing with the model, it's the fact that it's OBDII. Check your coil packs. That happened on my 96 when I still had it about a year and a half ago.

I don't know if you got the problem fix yet I have a 2000 Camaro with 3.8 ltr in it that was doing the same thing and it ended up being the fuel presure reg. valve that was causing my prob;em
