160 degree stat
hypertech sells one and i think even jet sells one.
But im almost pretty sure that your local pep boys or something carries the non-popular brands of the 160 stat, but they work just as good...
Also, dont forget to get a fan switch or programming to turn on your fans.

is there really and advantage in getting a lower temp thermostat if you have a stock car? I thought the only real reason was if you did something to mess with the timing?

If it stays pretty low, then theres no need. But the 160 tstat is a good thing b/c the fans turn on sooner= cooler = better

but in my experiences, i feel that it is NEEDED. In my car, my car ran WAY warmer with it in and no programming or switch.
I would install a SLP fan switch and put a bottle of Water Wetter while u are at it.
If not, at least add a bottle of Water Wetter if you dont want the switch.
just out of curiosity, do they make one in between the 160 and 210? i had a 160 on my 93 and in the winter when i had to use it, it sucked cause there was no heat to keep me warm. also on my 93 i did not have to reprogram anything it just picked it up and when it got close to the 170 or so it would turn on my fans automatically. do some cars need a switch to turn it on the newer ones? or does the reprogram take care of that? thanks!

It can increase emissions. FYI if you live in a state that requires checks.
If you do, keep the old one just in case.

I had the 180 before the 160 and the 160 w/o using my fan switch temps stay @ 160-70.The 180 was running 190-5 and@ the track I was peaking 210+.Thats why I got the 160 and fan switch now @ the track run in the 180-90 range fan running continuiously... and 160-70 on the street. With purple ice wetter
