My car died yesterday and I couldn't get it started. I found the #11 fuse blown put new one in and it blows it when I try to start it. I put in a whole bunch of 10 amp fuses to have them blow. I know this is crazy but I wanted to see if it would start with a bigger fuse .I put a 25 amp in and it did start but it was idiling terrible . I Can't leave that big of a fuse in there. I then put the 10 amp back in only to have it blow when you try to start it.
Anybody have any clue what this could be?

Thanks

Also I just checked the fuse blows whenever I just turn the key on without trying to start it. It's a 1993 v 6 3.4 camaro.
Thanks again

Sorry, I should have explained better. It's the #11 fuse under the hood. It says Vin enginecode S: Camashaft Position Sensor; Crankshaft position sensor; Electronic ignition Module(10 Amp) Vin engine code P: ignition coil; ignition coil driver(10 amp)

I still cannot find the problem. If anybody has any info. please help. Like I said if I put a 25 amp fuse in it will start . I can't be doing that though. The 10 amp fuse blows the first time you try to start it.

Thanks for any info anybody can tell me.

get a bunch of ten amp fuses, disconnect one Sensor at a time till the fuses stop blowing and it's that one or the wiring to that one you have a short in.

good luck with it.

Thanks bc2002ss for the info. Are you talking about the o2 sensors? And are they underneath the car. Thanks again

just unplug one thing on that fuse at a time till it stops blowing the fuse. Than change that one thing. Than the next thing. don't overlook the wiring

Went out and unplug everything one at a time with no luck. It still blows the 10 amp fuse. If I unhook the big wiring harness up by the pcm the fuse will not blow. Thats all I have learned so far.
Any more info. I can try ?

Thanks

posting help from the strip club. Time to get a multi meter
and test one wire from the comp to the fuse block at a time and look for the short or the comp might be.bad

Well, this is what I did today. I unplug the pcm and it did not burn the fuse when I turned the key on. So do you think the pcm is bad? It seems strange when the 10 amp blows, 15 amp blows but I can start it with a 30 amp and i let it run for just a little bit. If the pcm is bad would it start the car with the 30 amp?

Thanks again,

I have bought a multi meter but I don't know how to use it yet. I'll have to study more on the internet about it.

it sounds like it would be a wire, with it not blowing at the higher amp. read about testing for Continuity with the multimeter. Set the multimeter for Continuity and test one wire from one point to another if you get a beep it is grounded on something and that is the cause of the short hope you find it.

I had one in my Fiero I could not find for weeks by just looking over the wiring, ten minutes after getting out the multimeter it was fixed. work slow and good luck.
