*Compression Results*

Alright ive been trying to figure out my problems with my 3.4.ok it has white smoke pouring out the pipes.the smokes indicates coolant in the system, but it smells like straight raw gas.not coolant.so that was throwing me off
so i did a compression check which were,
180psi
170psi
180psi
180psi
150psi and
130psi
so im guessing that i have a head gasket leak between cylinders 150 and 130
So should i goahead and get a head gasket kit or should i be trying more test?what test should i do next,if any?
thanks in advance,Ray

Do a cylinder leakdown test......

You could also take your cap off the rad. and put the hose in the plug hole and try to hook it to an air hose...

Seeing that the two cylinders that posted the lowest results are right next to each other, it would indicate a bad head gasket.

The white smoke is coolant, the "raw gas smell" is the unburned fuel from the two affected cylinders having incomplete combustion due to the coolant. Also, your cat(s) will probably not heat up to operating temps, further increasing the unburned fuel coming out the tailpipe

Given the fact that the car has a straight pipe with no cat would only make the gas smell worse.hmm makes since.well Friday im going to go ahead and get a headgasket kit.and hopefully i can get this thing going.thanks for the help so far you guys.
