The gears are what made the big difference here. Being auto hes quite limited with the 2.73 or 3.23 he has.

Up to what speed?m6 with 4:10's vs an auto. It only makes since that you would take him from a roll but if you race past of a hundred he would catch and pass you .

In my LT1 I pull my buddys stock ws6 for a second until about a hundred. bye the time we hit 110 he is blowing bye me and his car is stock. My LT1 has ran consistant high twelves.

I can take him at the track but his is faster.

Good job either way.

After my a4 to m6 swap with the same mods my car is much better at jumping out and keeping the rpms up on a rolling street race. Autos sux on the street imo. Rpm's are never were you want them. Good run. Running passed 110+ on the street is dumb anyway so I say LT1's rule on the street.

No dout on the rpms never being where you want them, I remember a spot near my house where it went from 35mph to a 55 zone, id mash it and it would downshift into like 2500 rpms or something lol.

Good kill!

All those speeds suck as a starting point for 3.23 geared LS1's. The damn things refuse to downshift to first but rather keep us under our powerband in second.

That's usually the case. But LS1 A4's are very different animals once a big stall goes in. Plus they pay off big time at the track with drag radials.

One could argue that any racing on the street is dumb. But this probably isn't the place to make that argument. But I will say this, there are a ton of street racing kill stories that take place on the highway. Just from reading ls1techs kill section I notice 80% of the stories either take place on a highway or end up going to at least 120 mph.

So based on that I say LSX's rule on the street

Until we run into a modded 03/04 Cobra

Saw an 03 on HP tv where an HP3 on a stock Cobra netted 47 RWHP. Frickin insane! with a 3 inch pulley and an hp3 tune it ended up having 427 RWHP.

Those things are mosters with just bolt ons and a tune. The only bad thing about them is the IRS. Well that and it's a Ford

i pulled really really hard on him from the jump but at about 100 ish i stopped putting cars on him but he wasnt catching back up, oh and i was like man a stall converter, headers, and 3:73's would wake that thing up and he said im not going to put that much into it. and i was like, well then lt1's are going to keep beating up on you.

Im a weird chevy guy. I grew up in a ford house with nothing but ford cars. As a matter of fact the first fast car I ever drove was my moms 91 SHO back in the mid 90's and that thing was a 14 second car. I was in love with it.

To this day I still love ford cars. I just prefer GM.

So I may play around and say " Cause its a Ford" but the truth of the matter is I would buy a ford in a heartbeat. I dont think they are junk.
