Re: Will a GTO kick my a$$

OK. its on. i got my car today, and it actually feels alot stronger at lower RMPs, havent take it on the freeway to see how it does, but it did lay down a nice set of tiremarks. I called my friend and he said he will be cruising around at night, so we will meet up. I doubt he will kick my butt, but i beleive its gonna be close. Take inmind that both ar automatics. And he just added a pair of 12" subs and audio equipment so theres a tenth of of him and im sure as hell going to remove my subs to save weight. I dont have the spair or jack either.

Maybe. But, it's not hard to floor an automatic.

Thumbs up Re: Will a GTO kick my a$$

You'll beat him.
IMO (and I'll get flamed for this), the 13.1 GMHTP GTO is a bunch of bullsh*t. I've yet to see one privately owned GTO come anywhere near that time. The best driven cars are going high-13's in the 101-102mph range, with very few squeaking into the 13.6 range. I'm sorry, but there is no focking way GMHTP ran 107mph in a bone stock GTO. They never did actually publish those times or the track test, and this was months ago.
About 5 months ago, a guy on another site, in the middle of a GTO vs. '03/'04 Cobra debate suddenly claimed he ran a 13.3. After some prodding, he produced a timeslip. The car number in the opposite lane on the timeslip quite coincidentally matched the numbers that are on his "race car" as seen on his website. And the ET/TS for that car were almost spot on what his "race car" runs off the button. He had claimed to have made two other runs, but he wouldn't post the slips, and it was only after he got some serious flack that he posted the entire slip of the claimed 13.3 pass. He claimed to cut a 1.91 short time on a KDW's...with 20psi of air in them.. He claimed to have run a 13.6, and 13.45 and then a 13.3 and those other two slips never materialized. Neither did the video he was going to have within a few weeks after making another trip to the track and neither did any new times or slips. I thought he was BS'ing then, and after watching GTO owners/racers struggling to get their cars into the mid-13's (many of them modded and not coming anywhere near a 13.3) I'm even more convinced it was a con-job. GTO owners speak of this time slip in hushed tones and with awe, I think they were tricked.
That's just my opinion, and I could be proven wrong. And IMO, a bolt-on LT1 will beat a GTO (M6 or A4).

Re: Will a GTO kick my a$$

JAja finaly raced the GTO. We decided to got from a 25mph roll on the freeway. He was acting cocky as hell because he was with 2 other guys, so he ended up racing with 2 other people on the car while i was alone. It wasnt that much of a race, he didnt want to go from 3 honks, he just told me to floor it and he would do the same so i did, since i floored it i instantly put about 3/4 of a car on him because he started 1/2 second later, or aslong as it took him to react to hearing my engine rev up. Whe went to about 125mph and preaty much ended up a bit over a car ahead of him. He was preaty mad saying it didnt want to shift out of 2nd so he couldnt catch up, and wanted to race again, but since he was being a lil bitch about it i told him i would race him again 2morrow from a stop with just the driver on the car. The impy cam isnt that bad at all

I really dont know what to expect from it, hopefully i wont be dissapointed, but i still need a tune to compensate for the mods and the diffeerent heads and cam.
No offense.......but your spelling sucks........

Why? I did it cause everybody gave me sh*t for the syn. oil and the time before the last round of mods. Sooner or later I will get new times.

Dont GTOs put out about 300 rwhp and weigh about 3700 lbs? That should make them run about 13.1 or 13.2 if GMHTP got a 12.8 out of a 300 rwhp 3400 lb. F-body.

They weigh closer to 3800lbs. and nearly 4000 with a driver. M6's dyno from 290-300rwhp. They're almost 400lbs. heavier than many F-bodies and have IRS with a puny 245 tire.
In nearly 9 months since they hit the US, I've yet to see one legitimate claim quicker than a 13.6.

They weigh closer to 3700 lbs. according to this: http://www.edmunds.com/new/2004/pont...h.0.3.Pontiac*

So they are more like 325 lbs. heavier than LS1 F-bodies. LS1s also have a "puny" 245 tire unless they are the WS6 or SS. I'm not sure how the IRS affects their launches. Why are you giving me a thumbs down? What does Snorman mean anyway?
