Walked a G35 in the daily driver

I was coming home from Mobile on I10, 7 hours east, driving through the night. I took my 01 WS6 cause it gets great gas milage being just a bolt on car. (averaged 26 mpg running 80 with the ac kickin..) anywho, a G35 with rims and exhaust came flying up on me, he blew by me, there was no one around so I eased up with him. We changed lanes to pass a car and he nails it, so I put it in 4th and walk around him, run it though 5th and hes about 20 cars back so I back off and coast back to normal speeds. About 3 miles later he pulls up next to me and jumps at me, so this time I use third and about midway through 4th he flashed his lights in defeat from 10 cars or better back.

Livened up the night..

Good kill but not surprised at all. Seems most people that drive G35s think they are fast. Decent performing engine in the G35 but no match for a LS1.

Yea, good kill. When I had my 02 SS I spanked a few of those guys. They were always the same, they were soooo shocked to find out they didn't have the fastest car on the road.

A 350Z tried it with me and lost by bus lengths. They are very slow.

Not surprised. A co-worker who only leases cars had a GS 3.7S 6-speed until August and when his lease was up moved to a BMW 335Si 6-speed. It's got gobs more torque (though heavier) and feels way faster than the GS. I'd still match my SHO against either car 0-100 though, and probably come out about even with the BMW and ahead of the GS, so a WS6 wouldn't even be breathing hard to take one, especially from a roll.
