Viper kill!

After a boring night sitting around the tube, I got restless and decided to open the bottle and go cruising a little. Spent 30-40 minutes driving around the local hotspots, but there was only rice out. Gave up and decided to head home. While sitting at a light for the on ramp to I26, I notice this wicked pair of headlights coming at me. He must have noticed me and my signal cause he got over and pulled up to the yield sign to get on the on ramp (my light had just turned). I flipped the switch and headed to the highway, hoping he'd gave chase. As soon as I cleared the yield, he got right behind me and started lunging. I was only doing about 20 and didn't want to hit it in first, so I had to wait a little until I got the rpms over 3k in second. Soon as I did I punched it and got pretty decent traction. Spun a little, just a little more than a chirp. Nitrous hit really, really hard (it'd been a hot day and bottle pressure was 1100) but my engine wasn't really in the powerband yet, so he stayed right on my *** till about 5000 rpms, at that point I started pulling pretty good and by the time traffic slowed us I was doing a little over 115 in 4th with a 3-4 car lead. Best race I've had in 5 years! I was really happy with my new cam setup.

Oops, forgot to mention it was a 98+ GTS model, blue and white. No clue if it was modded, couldn't even tell on exhaust.

Re: Viper kill!

Great Kill,
Whats sad is that I raced a newer one (at the time) 03 model in my 01 Ram air and sprayed him. I wasted my spray as he blew past me like I was in reverse. I was running 12.40s in the 1/4 mile during this time period.

He must have had a few goodies to dispose of me that quickly.

I don't care if you had to run 7 bottles and 14 turbo's ---- YOU WON. It's that simple.

Good kill!

Re: Viper kill!

He was most likely modded then. Quick net check says the 03 Viper is good for low 12's around 117-120 mph.

Re: Viper kill!

LOL, that's true as far as the Viper driver was concerned, but I'd like to be able to do it on motor. When my bottle goes dry, I'm left with a ~112 mph car. Bye bye viper.
