Typhoon

My buddy just bought a 1993 typhoon I hope everyone know what this is. It is pretty much stock. So we go to this open road. Being a AWD he get the launch on me but a few seconds later I am pulling on him I have a few car lengths on him before 90mph. He was really disappointed about hi new car!

His "new" car is only a high 13 - low 14 second ride with a quick 60ft time.
Just refer him to the syclone/typhoon websites and research the mods.

If he only lost by a few carlengths, then it won't take much to turn the tables on ya.

Re: Typhoon

A friend of mine has a typhoon and when we run from a stop he gets me to about 70 with about 2 car lengths then I blow by him. Stock he runs 1.6-1.8 60ft times but it seems to fall of right before the 1/8. He pulls around 13.7 at around 94mph pretty consistantly but they wake up well with mods. Syty.net is a good website, refer him to that and tell him happy modding.

Sorry bro, I didn't mean for you to take my post that way.
I also forgot to write...Good Kill.

It was a good kill, I just stated that it don't take much for that truck to make alot more power.

Re: Typhoon

Hey its cool I was too defensive. I know it isnt that cool but it was my first race from stop and yes he has been working on it to figure out why its so slow!! He even wants to sell it now...but with some minor mods it should haul.

Re: Typhoon

Good kill, those things are killers off the line if they brake torqued right. I pulled low 1.8's with mine and it ran 13.2 at 101. I had exhaust, chip and intake. I ending up selling it but I was running 12.0's by then. Race him at about 100 mph it'll be like racing a honda.

Re: Typhoon

Tell him to put a DP and a full exhaust with a good intake, tunning, and convert the MAF from a LT1 car and he should be in the mid 13's easy with the stock boost. And a tq converter wouldnt hurt either, but that should come with the bigger turbo.
