That seems a little closer. I was pretty sure they ran faster than high 13s to low 14s stock. I remember some magazine did a feature where they ran a Syclone agianst a Vette. They used a water truck to wet down the Syclone's lane and the vette ran in the dry one. Even on a wet track the Syclone kicked it's *** bad. I also worked with a guy with one, he turned op the boost a little and replaced the throttle body and it ran 12 flat.

Looked identical though, I often got confused for the faster truck unfortunately. BTW a Syclone is the AWD turbo 4.3L truck and the Typhone is the AWD turbo 4.3L blazer. I'd love to have either, but the room of the suv just seems more appealing, even with the added weight.
A Typhoon or Syclone isn't realy the type of vehicle you drive in winter It's a rare, expensive, limited edition collector type vehicle, not a winter beater

Motor Trend tested the truck in their Dec 1990 issue. It went a 13.7 @ 98.5 (13.4 with icing and water).

Car and Driver did take a pre-production model into the 13.0 range (as did a few others). However, production trucks ran mostly mid-high 13's in the magazine racing realm....in C&D's Ferrari vs Syclone test (I remember that one!), the Sy went 14.1.

Re: Typhoon???

I'm not necessarily calling BS here but a friend of mine had a Syclone that went 12.30s at the track...Street racing was a whole different animal. He would beat up on 11 second track cars because he could build more boost on the street because he wasn't worried about slightly creeping forward
and redlighting...Also his 60's were the same, if not better on the street, than at the track. Getting out on an AWD on the street is very hard to do. I do low 1.7s and high 1.6s at the track where there's a water box and some track prep...I would beat him at the track, he will kill me on the street...
