I raced two of them over the last few months both stick n modded don't know how much boost both were running
1st one was on the street new body he ran a best of 13.9 at the track don't know completer mods ne way he wanted to race me 2 see how he would do. On the street i spun he took a 2 car lead caught traction n put about 2 cars on him then shut down.
2nd Went to Etown with one of my roomates and ran him i ran 13.5 to his 14.6 although it was his first time at the track and his clutch was goin. btw his brother co owns bm tranny big dsm shop here in jersey. his bro's talon street legal runs low 11's. he is friends with john shepard n that crowd ne back to topic
This kid from back home just bought a 98 talon tsi with intake, catback, some kinda performance clutch 15psi wants to race. kid is typical ricer hates domestics bc they are heavy n imports get more performance with half the price all the ricer **** u hear. Well he wants some of the beast when they track opens in the spring. Getting pacesetter lt's for christmas n saving paychecks for my 3200 converter so i shud b around low 13 maybe high 12's with traction.
NOW should i race him or let my roomate with the talon race him? i figure i mess around with the kid n let him race my roomate n if he beatshim then i'll race him so its not a waste of gas.

15psi on what turbo? stock? no fear.
bigger? (16g, 18g, 20g, t3/t4) watch out it'll be close, esp if its a 20g or t3/t4 on 15psi, u'll prolly lose
to prevent this, i have a good solution for u

ls1's can take a 125 shot no sweat right? dunno bout the tranny tho...**** 98's i hear 98's can take a one fitty shizzy foshizzy

You don't wanna get rid of those 2.73's first? That'd probably make just as big a difference as the new TC.
I predict you'll be the 98, both now and after your mods. It doesn't sound like he's got the right combo to make it fast yet.

I'd get gears before the stall converter. If you really want to nail him, get the gears/stall/sticky tires and a tune up. Man 103 is one of the lowest trap speeds I've ever seen from an LS1 car, let alone one with mods.
I'd be willing to bet that he's upgrading this winter also.....

i'm not upgradin gears no spray either he jus bout the car so his funds are pretty much tapped considering no job. the setup I am going with is as follows
1 lt headers-christmas present
2. 2800-3500 stall whichever i see a good deal on
3. Nitto drag radias
4. GM Hotcam Kit
5. Tunning most likely LS1 Edit
I'll have the first two in about a month with the tires right after.
I trapped 103 when i ran 13.5 but also ran 104 a cuple times on some 13.6 runs
depends on what kind of 16g. A bigger one may dyno higher but a small 16g is easier to drive and give you quicker qm times.
Update roomates brother merged bm with turno trix and my roomates ran 14.2 with a 2.2 60' (no more clutch due to brother burnin it) to my 13.5.

MAN...u definitely need some gears with that tc. If you don't want to go with anything as low as 4.10s are 3.73s get some 3.42s or even 3.23s. Anything is better than those 2.73s and with the gears just mentioned it won't kill your gas mileage. That cam is gonna cost way more than those gears (if your not doing yourself) and won't give u any more e.t. than the gears will. On top of that add in that the hotcam and longtube headers will kill some of your torque downlow you will need the gears even more. Your gonna see less improvement in the route your taking in my opinion. I would do gears first, then a 3200 tc,then stickier tires,then long tubes...that would put you kickin *** right there. My buddies 99 ls1 has just those mods and ran a 12.09 with 3.23s. THEN add in that cam u got planned and make those talons think they accidently shifted into reverse
