A Kill and a death on the same street.

My wife and I were driving home from the movies (Matrix) in my 328i and we pulled up next to a yellow v-6 Mustang with a body kit and hood. It looked pretty nice, So i looked over to see who was driving and it was 2 teenage guys with there music hitin so hard it was shaking my rear view mirror. My wifes window was down so i look over to him and ask if it was a GT ( I couldent see the single or dual exahust) He said its a V-6 with alot of money into it... So i asked what he had done to it, thinking it was performance mods. He said, body kit, 2 inch drop, cobra R hood, rim's and a phat *** system. So i asked, how about the moter? He said nothing yet....He then said, why do you want to run? So i said what the hell lets go for it. He puts it in Nuteral and starts revving a little bit. Sounded like crap too me.. Light turns green and i punch it. We are even for a little bit (till 20-25mph) then i start pulling pretty easy... By the time i hit 75mph i was surprised how many cars i had put on him. It was pretty ugly, I know it was a v-6 Mustang but i thought it was have had a better showing then that. At the next light he pulls up next to me this time on my side and he said.. Wow, that Bimmer is faster then i thought. I told him it was bone stock. Wich it is.. with almost 90k on it. Light turns green and he turns left...

Now about 2 blocks down I'm sitting at anohter light and i see head lights pull up behind me. Then the car pulls out and gets right next to mee. It was a silver Grand Prix GTP with a women in her mid 20's driving. I dont pay any attention to it cause i figured i had my race for the night and was gonna go home. Then the light turns and she takes off pretty quickley. So i get on the gas a little bit and my nose gets right about to her door handle when she just floors it and takes off. So i floor it a little bit after that to see if i could pull on her at all and it just wasent happening. The Car had some crazy top end pull. Cause she add a few cars on me after i got on it. So we pull up to the light and this time i teel my wife im gonna punch it when it turns green. Well the light turns green and i launch pretty good.. What does she do? Takes off like a little ole grannie. So i wait for her to see if she gets of the gas again and sure enough she changes lanes and steps on it again. So this time i am 3 or 4 cars ahead and i punch and she reels me in. The light turns red and this time im gonna tell her to run. Well.. she gets in the turn lane and takes off. I never got to run her from a stand still, But i'm pretty sure it would have been the same outcome.

Good kill and death.

My cousin has a 328i and he has beaten many V-6 Mustangs pretty easily. Those GTP's are quick though, I have seen some GTP's beat z28s with very little mods. I saw a stock GTP beat a 95 GT Mustang by about 5 cars. Good try though.

I believe GTP's have a supercharger or at least an optional one. That's where the sleeper power is coming from.

That GTP was really fast.. I was trying to get it from a dig just to see how i would match up. My 328 has great 1st and 2nd gear pull. I have hung with some pretty powerful cars through 1st gear. This car has perfect traction and launches really well. But against a car that weighs just 170lbs more then mine and has 240hp and 280lb-ft plus the Supercharger to help it out on the top end i dont thinik it would have matter much anyway.

I raced my friends 325ci in the rain once. I got owned. I just burned my tires -- and they had no problem getting traction. Needless to say, when we raced another (dry) they didn't know what the hell had happened.

I used to have a stock GTP as a daily driver and raced a couple of 328's. It was pretty close but the good low end and midrange of the GTP was too much for them. Fun though. A problem with the Camaro is that it's too fast for any kind of street racing. Just too dangerous and not really worth it.
