Gotta love the haterz. If your car is faster, feel free to bash all you want. Otherwise it's just whining.

Any car that gains 300-500+ whp in a 1000 rpm window will have traction problems no matter what manufacturer's badge is on it.

Exactly! Not to mention it's against a bike where there's just no chance from a dig with a street setup. Properly riden that R1 is running 0-60 in the high 2 sec. range. Antz obviously hasn't ever driven a single turbo Supra.

Not whining, or hating, I was actually waiting for this reply from you...You flock to these 90's turbo car posts like a bunch of seagalls. God fabid anyone says something you dont agree w/, but this is a camaro board that might happen . Its a public forum everyones entiltled to their opinion. I understand all cars are welcome around here and thats great the more the merrier but you kinda take it personal. I already know all about the 8 second street driven supras your gonna tell me about, a monkey can race from a roll, lets see the driver in street trim get the power down and run a race where they actually have to shift. There beautiful cars, and id love to own one but just once Id love to see one of these 1000 hp supras run from a stop. All that powers not worth **** if you just sit there and spin, which a good majority do that why theres so many 600-800 hp 12 second supras.

Antz obviously hasn't ever driven a single turbo Supra.
No never, way too expensive still for my blood, bet it would be a blast though ... but what should that have to do w/ anything, i understand the make alot of power. Never said I disliked the car, just said I would love to see one race from a stop.

ive already said why i dont like running from a dig so ill spare that. but i will say that a supra CAN and DOES launch better than an fbody. most dont tho because most run around on nice looking 18s or 19s because they care about the entire package of their car, not just going fast. and to some of them (me included) et doesnt mean jack. their trap is the true indicator of what their car can do. not what the track and the driver can do.

Re: Supra vs. R1

Awesome video... Glad I can see what's happening up there.

I have a funny little story, take it as you will.

There was a shop around here where I live, it specialized in imports. They sold outrageously priced "packages" and claimed unrealistic numbers in the 1/4 mile and top speed, acceleration, etc. People were buying into it left and right because there really aren't many good local shops for imports (not many good local shops period, really). I'll skip to the good part. The shop hosts a day at the track, and the owner brought his "9 second 1100 hp" supra out and embarassed himself by running consistent mid 12's at 118-120. He was making decent power but obviously nowhere near the claims. At any rate, the people who purchased his packages also embarassed themselves at the track running from 16's-high 12's when they were hoping for 12's-9's. The shop closed a few weeks later. I think it's a crappy little 2-car body shop now.

haha thats great, kinda hard to do that w/ Fbods/mustang....Didnt they wait for some dyno numbers before purchasing anything, I wouldnt have just taken his word for it...There kickass cars, just still way to expensive...still well in the 30-40's...Ill save a few more G's and get a c6 or a LS2 goat or terminator...but to each his own

Because every post you make about the same cars is full of **** and vinegar. You just love spewing hate for any import-branded car.

Given an equal tire, a Supra will hook just as well as any other car. You just don't find many riding around on ET Streets and you sure as hell don't find any with 90/10 drag shocks. Show me an 800 whp F-body that hooks up without either of those.

I also don't want a car with power I can't use. It's why I've owned so many "90s turbo cars" (there aren't many "00s turbo cars...") and it's why I insisted on AWD for my current car. For my $30k budget I could have chosen many "superior" used (but 2wd) cars. I don't know if I've ever seen you post what you run. You're happy to critique other people's driving and choice of vehicle - what do you run in your magic mobile?

Have you built a single Supra? No. I have. I did all the wrenching in my driveway with plain ol' Wal-Mart brand hand tools -- no garage, lift, and air tools here. My brother sold the car a few weeks ago and last week the new owner ran mid 11s at 124 on 93 octane. I'd say that's doing well from a stop.

I'm glad you look forward to my posts. If you think you're going to run me off like another person around here, forget it. I'm glad you're giving me permission to be here too - I've only been a participating for 2 years longer than you have. Put your e-peen back in your pants and leave the posting for real enthusiasts.

Whatever you say man, your just a little touchy , no ones tryin to run you off..and SteveY ran himself off of this site, same way he did on the stang sites...I have nothing against imports at all...even owned an eclipse, Only thing derogatory I EVER said about any import was that a vr4 was heavy and about always seeing supras run from a roll on video. i'll leave my participation in this thread at that.
