Stock '04 Altima v.s. Modded '97 Z28

I line up last night with a buddy of mine with a '97 Z M6 car. His mods are cai, borla, and a hurst shifter. Hes got a slight miss in the car due to some ignition issues. (Needs new plugs/wires/etc)

We go line up, and flagman drops his hands. I leave pretty good with minor wheelspin and jump out about 1-2 cars. He leaves really soft and slips the clutch. By the time I shift 2nd I'm an even 2 cars out front. He caught up a very little towards the end and we came through the finish with him holding his own about 1-1.5 cars back.

He wanted to try again so I agree. Exact same outcome.

I'm sure his KS was off the meter during the race and he prolly got a lot of retard and extra fuel, but he wants to try again after he takes care of some basic maintenace.

Good kill.

Looks like you can drive pretty well.

Ignition and wiring problems suck. I think I have a small wiring problem right now throwing codes for my O2 sensors. I hate wiring problems. A pain in the butt to track down.

Why race if your car is no where near running in optimum condition?

That's what we all wondered. Apparently he raced a buddy of mines Civic that runs mid 14s a few nights before and whooped him pretty bad. He heard that I was quicker than the Honda so he wanted to try me. Maybe his condition got worse between when he raced the Honda and me????

BLUNTDOGG, I see you finally got a F-bod. Congrats!!! How you likey?? Ran it yet??

Maybe he just wants to see how big of a difference it will be when he gets his car fixed?

And COMNBYU when are you gonna get the stuff in to start modding your car? Hvae you ordered parts or are you waiting because of money? I want to see what that thing can do when it gets money into it. I was thinking of one when I get a daily driver so I don't have to use the Z as much.

LMAO where you been man, I've had this car for the last 9 months! Absolutely love the car, even more so now as today was the first time I've driven it in the past month after being in an accident and having it at the body shop. Local track opens later this month so I can go get some numbers on her.

BIGGINZ-

Well I was gonna order cat-back/cai and see what the car would do with that, but if you check my sig out I've updated it. I'm getting a slightly modded '89 5.0 in a couple of weeks and am turning the Alty back in. I'm tired of the payments. Spending almost 1k a month between car payments and insur. I will be borrowing a wet kit from a friend though to put on the Alty before I turn it back in. Gonna start out with a 75 and possibly move up to a 100. I'll let you know what happens with that... Should have 12 sec potential...

BLUNTDOGG-

Yea I just got back from the Army 4-5 months ago and hadn't started posting on the boards again until this past Feb.('04) I guess I just hadn't seen you post recently. Anyhoo, glad to see you're happy with your new ride. Let us know what she does at the track!!!

I lost 50rwhp on the dyno when I had a burnt plug wire. He needs to fix the ignition problem.
