Angry STI ALMOST gets Owned!

I was coming home today on the highway and noticed a STI right next to me so I throw him a few revs and he does not respond. We keep doing like 80-85MPH (I am in the left lane and he now follows). Both Lanes Open Up and I jump over to the right lane and he is about 2 lenghts behind me. Rather than him come up next to me and do a nice sqaure run...He downshifts behind me and guns it and I punched it a lil too late cuz I did not realize it till he was like a half a car length behind me now. So now I punch it and because of the high stall my car shifts and take a lil while to get going...He flies by me quickly but as soon as my car builds up the rpms I start reeling him in. Its now about 100 and he is like 3-4 cars a head of me. My car starts pulling hard and I start to reel him in by 115MPH I am next to his back door and still going STRONG but had to let off and hit the brakes cuz my lane had cars coming up in front of me real quick and he had to let off too since there was a State Trooper about a 1/8 Mile down the road running radar. I almost had him but was thankful that niether one of us got a ticket. I know he had some mods done to his car cuz I saw a new aftermarket exhaust and guage in the driver side pillar, plus nice silver rims too, looked like 17 inch rims but dont know what else he had done. We both exited to go on the turnpike where I thougth I would get my chance to get a nice even side by side run with him and blow him away but he either was zipping thru traffic or went South, he went right thru the EZ pass while I was stuck waiting to get my Turnpike ticket to get on the NJ Turnpike so we did not get to do it again....

It was a nice car and I give him props for running it but I cant stand when Guys do the Flybye or in my case the Sucker Punch but it was still fun watching my car catch up to him

Thx,
Claude

He must have been modded becuase even with a running start, you should be able to stop his pull in a hurry with cubes and FI.

Yeah it was a Nice Black sleek looking car....
And when he punched it, I was suprised to see how quick he was (so I believe he had some more mods too) but I think he was probably more suprised to see an LT1 Trans Am gaining on him and was about to pass him too

The funny/wierd thing is the day prior to this race, I had an Older Gentleman in a Subaru WRX Wagon that started giving me the look and gunned it too. (I know 2 runs with Subarus in 2 days) So we went at it but it was entering the turnpike so it was from a 30MPH roll and by the time I hit 95-100MPH, the WRX Wagon was like 12-15 cars behind me. About 5 Miles later, the Older Gentleman was next to me and was looking at my car with a very puzzled look kinda like "I wonder what the hell he has got in that thing"....The look on his face was priceless, he could not see me looking back at him because of my tints.

This older dude suprised me too cuz he looked like somekinda College proffessor type with reading glasses hung around his neck, I would have never guess he would try to start a race but then again....it goes to show you should never Judge a Book by its cover. I mean I know that older guys in Hotrods can be deadly fast but I would never had thought that a college professor type looking older dude driving a Subaru would be out for a race....To each his own and more power to him...

Claude
