At the car wash today and an '00 up GT rolls past me and lets me hear his pipes. I turned out of the wash and slowly went past him threw it in neutral and let him hear mine. He motioned for me to roll my window down and asked if I wanted to run. I told him yeah. Neither asked what the other had and really didn't care...just wanted a race I guess! We lined up, the light turned green. He launched better reaction wise but i made up ground quick. Smoked 2nd gear and was pulling away, 3rd was a beast and I left him , shut it down in 3rd for the next light. There were cars in front of us so we had to wait to get clear on the highway. Once we were ahead of everyone ,I slowed to 60 and we lined up again. I honked 3 times and we were off, I dropped it into 3rd and floored it, really wasn't close, Shifted to 4th around 100 and the next thing I knew I was cruising at 135. Looked in my rear view mirror anf the Stang was what seemed like 10 or more cars back.

 

good run. I think those 4.6sohc's are dogs when it comes to top end.

the 4.6s actually pull harder on the top end especially in 3rd and 4th.

 

Its true, my 2000 gt vert pulled pretty hard though 3rd+4th. They only have like 260hp stock and with exhaust maybe 280. I am guessing you almost have double that but nice kill anyway
