SC stang, 03 Cobra, 00 LS1 ect..

The car has been down for awhile with the tranny and stall being rebuilt. Finally got to take it out this past Saturday night. Showed up where our "club" for lack of a better term was meeting. Here there is a mile long 3 lane wide stetch behind some warehouses where the workers come out to watch and place bets. The road is closed to traffic, not an import in the group and very stucturalized. In the lot where several LS1 cars, 2 Vette's, several Mustangs and a hand full of LT1's. The races:
First race was against a buddy with a 97 GT. This car was bottle fed at one time but had since removed it for a charger. He had a few suspenison mods and a small cam w/ bolt-on's. He didn't want me to drop the tire pressure, fearing already I would rape him out of the hole- which I did.
Two times we went from a dig which I jumped him pretty well, sprayed and never looked back. The last run, from a 25 kicked, ended the same.

Next run vs. 00 SS I figured this guy might be a bit quick as he had spent a little money on appearence stuff, wheels, stipes ect. He wouldn't run me with the jug on so he watched me close it up. We lined up, I did a nice burnout, heating the DR's nicely. I let him get a small jump, tacked it up, hooked and passed him around the 2-3 shift and held stong until shut down. I figured he would want another run but he immeditaly pulled to the rear of the group and parked the car.

Small money race; 03 Cobra
After the previous run, a guy walks up and his buddy wants to know if I would be interested in running for some money. We found the guy and asked about the car. Tag reads: trmnater or something close and he is running 14 pounds of boost. I was hesitant at first and told him I would run for $25, just enough for a tank of gas. That was fine for him so we line em' up. I knew I would need all I could so I heated the tires until smoke filled the air everywhere. Here's where it gets tricky. The races was decided to of ended at the top of the hill. The only thing is the top of the hill is long and flat with a slight incline up to it making the ending point somewhat confusing. We lined them up, I hooked and he didn't. I get to where the ending should be with him just a tad behind me. Me not spraying. I'm thinking I have this and then out of nowhere he comes screaming by. I hit the button but to late. We stopped, talked and both agreed that it was close and we weren't sure where the ending was. So we line them up again.

Next run I decide not to take any chances. Line em', lay another smokey burnout and stall the car up nicely. The flagger drops his hands, I get him out of the hole and immediatly go for the button. I had him just by a nose after the predetermined "light pole" had been reached. He paid up, shook hands and complimented the cars.

Final race His buddy with an LS1 shows up. A friend asks if I would like to run the LS1 SS for that $25. I asked about mods to which the friend replied nothing major, just some suspension and a few small things. I started to agree but figured I might want to check into the car further. I walked up, shook hands and asked him what shot he was spraying. 100 he sais along with DR's, 3000 stall and some other stuff. Good thing I asked. I declined the offer to run for money but we agreed on a fun run. We lined them up, launched and stayed neck and neck. Apparently we sprayed about the same time with him slightly pulling me. And that closed the night.

Most of the cars where having a hard time hooking- I was not but we are laying some VHT next weekend so thing might be a bit different.

Sorry about the novel, killing time before class.

Hell yeah, you've got one helluva potent LT1 on your hands man! It's nice to see some of our older cars hanging strong through the field.. Nice little LS1 eater you got (Flame Suit On)
