S2000

I need proof that the S2000 stock is a dog compared to LS1 Camaro's and even LT-1 camaros. All box stock. Need actualy factory data. Any ideas where to look?

I have this guy saying it is super fast I was doining 80 in second and had four gears left to go. It would smoke a camaro easy..

Oh please. At 240hp and 153tq that car is nothing to be scared of.I beat one in my 2000 mustang gt.And now that i own an ls1 i can tell you. You'd eat him for breakfast.I think they're mid 14 second cars stock.

ls1's will rip it, it will give an LT1 a run for its money (stock vs stock)

a good driver can pull a 14.0 out of an S2000, they're hard to launch from a stop, so most usually pull mid 14's @ 98-100

Only with a S2000 owner willing to drop it @8000RPM.
Still, they are not a match for a GT/LT1/LS1...........put the tard in his place.

Even if he drops it at 8000RPM,the tires will spin and he won't get traction. And should he race on slicks, then after he drops it at 8000rpm the tires will hook and the rpm will go down to 1000 or something in that area, leaving the guy with low torque. So i think eather way the s2000 doesn't have a chance. From a roll i'd say it should be fun with a gt.I don't know about lt1's,but beeing the owner of an ls1 i can only tell you.Don't try us from a roll. The Our cars seem to pull like maniacs after 60mph.

They're turds. I lined up with one the last time I was at the track with my Regal. Due to massive wheelspin, I had to launch at idle and wasn't able to go full throttle until I was past the 330ft lights. He beat me out of the hole, but I blew past him like he was tied to a post. I ran a 13.7@105 (2.5 60ft) to his 14.2 @98.

A perfectly driven S2K is good for 13.8@100. Not even in the ballpark for a poorly driven LS1 F-body.

actually, if you drop an s2000 from around 7k it will reward you with a very low 5 second 0-60. they run pretty hard for a n/a four-banger in 1st, 2nd and 3rd if you keep the tach over 6k. while i don't fear them, they're pretty quick for what they are. prolly the ONLY honda car out there that shouldn't be crushed into beer cans.

Bite your tongue boy. But seriously I'd take the nsx over any other honda any day.

Bone stock you are looking at about 14.0 to be about best. Most drivers that have S2000s though rarelt ever race them, they bought them for other purposes. My brother on the other hand loves racing around in is. Last month his "mutant" s2000 pulled a 13.7 at 100mph w/ a 1.8.. 60ft.(great driver) Bone stock I might add. With an s2000 the time it runs depends all on the driver, there is no room for mistake.

The only S2000 that a LS1 owner should worry about is a blower car. Funny the one day that a guy in SE Penn. though he'd run me from a roll..not knowing I was packing a procharger...it was just a very ugly sight for him

Stock for stock...LS1 hands it is butt. LT1/GT...depends on the driver...I would think LT1/GT win though

I always roll my eyes when someone looses in a drag race and then tells me whe could take me on a road course.I mean eather take the loss or race again.Don't make excuses why your car lost.I lost to a supercharged 95 cobra once.I gave the guy a thumbs up,i didn't tell him i would win at a beauty contest.I used to think that way when i first got a car.I bought a 240sx.The car had handling i've never experianced before and still haven't.But that didn't help me on americas straight roads.

And you're right Oracle17.If you want a drag car you shouldn't buy a car that has less torque then my washing mashine.

You're right about the honda acura thing. In japan they don't drive an acura nsx they drive the honda nsx. It's only made by acura here in america. It's the same car btw.

Hey if i could i'd buy and enzo this second.Too bad people own them for the wrong reason.I dare you to find one owner of a ferrari or lambourghini who'll tell you what car he exactly owns.I mean if you ask those people they'll say "i own a ferrari" or "i own a lamboughini" none of them will tell you they own an enzo,or an f40,or a gallardo. They just buy those cars for the name. Also,i know a bunch of musclecar owners and riceboys who say that they don't like supercars, because they could beat em in the 1/4 mile. But imagine a souped up supercar. You and i both know they're just saying it because they can't afford em. I know that if had the money i'd buy me an F40 right away.I love the ls1 but that's just because it's the best in my pricerange.

Man i gotta post my two cents on this one....

a few years back I got my 1996 3800 V6 Camaro and my little brother's friend got a brand spankin new honda s2k. Naturally the little snot challenges me to a race so i tell him (knowing full well that he doesn't have a clue how to drive it) that i'll rip him out of the hole till 30 or so then he'll pass me. He doesn't believe me so I have to show him. We go out to the "strip" line up, my brother gets out and flags and we go. Well i was wrong about 30 as it turns out i smoke him bad until 50 (at which time he flies by like i'm standing still). Just goes to show that unless the guy is willing to severly abuse the s2k, it's a turd.
