Ran into a Stealth

I was dropping my little brother of at wrestling practice and there was a dodge stealth weaving in and out of traffic and almost clipped another car. I come to a stop next to him and notice it wasnt twin turbo and had the 24v dohc motor and a huge fart pipe without a liscense plate so he probably just bought it. I roll down my window and there were two "gangsta" white kids bumpin to 50. I signal them to turn it down and they roll down their window. i say, "hey your car sounds like a ****in' civic." Right then the light turns green and I do a huge burnout. smoke is just pourin into their car. They catch up when im just cruisin and they flip me the bird but i was just laughin at how horrible the car sounded and how stupid they looked. Dont get me wrong, Ive heard alot of TT 3000gt and stealth and they sound real nice and throaty but agh this car was like 4 different colors also. Ill probably get flamed for this but that car was ridiculous.

No flame here, I walked an n/a 3000gt in my svt. Was playin with him in traffic, caught a light together. Guy looks over and says "A Contour, you can't be serious". Light turns green, took him by about two cars at 60, with his girfriend in the car, in front of the friday night car meet. Wish I'd been in my real car.

The NA's aren't all that and they're dirt cheap these days so lots of kids have 'em. While the modded cars can do as well as low 14s with bolt-ons, the vast majority are mid 15s or slower. Find one with an automatic and it's a second slower.

The stock twin turbo setup will bolt onto a NA car, even the automatics, making for a quick and easy turbo kit that can run 6-7 psi with no trouble and trap 101-105 mph. There's a good number of people doing that now with great success.

I had a NA recently try my Subaru -- he waited for me to pull even before "teaching me a lesson" on the divided 4-lane. Let's just say that my "Camry with a hoodscoop" totally stunned him.

So the N/A 200hp models have the same internals at the TT ones? Interesting I didnt know that. I have a friend who has a stealth r/t and it is pretty slow, a4 too.

Nah, they're not the same internals - that's why they're limited to lower pressures. They've run as much as 12 psi on the stock internals (93 octane) without damaging anything but that's after adding fuel, etc.

It's this reason that one day I want to turbo a mid 90s Diamante just for the hell of it. A 300+ hp luxo-sedan wouldn't be too bad, even if it's hampered by fwd.
