Ran a G8 GT

Anyone else run one of these yet? I had one fly by me on the highway last night, so I figured I would give chase and see how it ran...finally caught up to him doing about 85 and got about a car ahead before I slowed a bit to see if he would bite. He did, so I followed. We weren't even when we both hit it, but I stayed about 1/2 car ahead of him until about 120. Before hand I figured it would be a good run, which it was, but I had to look up their weight cause I figured he would have beat me. I guess 3995 lbs can counteract that hp/tq pretty quick! Good running car though, I like the look of them as well.

I had my car weighed with me in it (200) and the scale showed 3765 lbs.

IF my SS weights 3500, that's about 500 below a G8 and about 400 below the new camaro. What makes them weigh so much more?

things just add up. Independent rear suspension takes up more than a few lbs. Also, overall structural rigidity to improve the feel and make it more solid sure doesnt help the weight issue (but it does make the car feel more substantial). 400-500lbs is a big weight difference but im sure itll feel as different as your car does to a first gen Camaro. Those were probably 400-500lbs lighter than your car.
